| After the Iraqis invaded Kuwait, the United States led an international coalition against Iraq. The United States received UN authorization to engage in military action against the Iraqis. The US launched, on the evening of January 17th, an air attack against the Iraqis, followed by a land attack, which dislodged the Iraqis from Kuwait in one of the most lopsided battles of modern times. |
