Pan Am Aquires National Airlines


Pan Am aquired National Airlines in 1980 thus receiving the domestic routes that it long coveted. Pan Am soon set up its own shuttle to compete with Eastern successful operation. The merger with National did not go smoothly and was a major contributor to Pan Ams financial difficulties.
