| Mississippi native son William Faulkner wrote some of the most celebrated novels in 20th century American history including The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, Light in August, and Absolom, Absolom.
He received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1949. Faulkner also wrote screenplays, perhaps the most famous being The Big Sleep in 1946. |
