1868 Republican Convention

Chicago May 20 to 21, 1868 Nominated: Uysses S Grant of Ill for President Nominated: Shuyler Colfax of Indiana for Vice President The Republican convention unanimously nominated General Grant as their nominee. There were no other nominees. Shuyler Colfax who was the speaker of the House was selected to be the Vice Presidential candidate.
