1900 Democratic Convention
Kansas City, MO

July 4 to 6, 1900

Nominated:William J Bryan, of Florida for President
Nominated: Adlai E Stevenson, of Ill for Vice President
When the Democrats in Kansas City in July it was clear that they faced a strong uphill battle against a Republican administration that had just led America to an unprecedented victory in the Spanish American War. There was some sentiment to find an alternative to Bryan, but the convention overwhelming supported Bryan who many felt had rescued the party from the Business and he was renominated.
